(Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience)

COPE is a BSA High Adventure program designed for First Class scouts who are age 13 by June 1, 2005. The program is designed to build confidence and positive attitudes to face life's challenges. The COPE program takes up most of a participants day, so merit badge choices are limited.

LAUREL HIGHLANDS TREK

Register with at least five Scouts and 1 leader before May 13, 2005 to participate in this challenging program. Scouts must be First Class, age 14 before June 1, 2005, a red, white, and blue swimmer, have a Class III medical on arrival at camp, and Scoutmaster and parental approval.

The program is a week away from Conestoga and includes backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, white water rafting, and rock climbing. There is an $85.00 fee IN ADDITION TO the regular camp fee.

PATHFINDER

Pathfinder is a fun and high-spirited program for those with a rank of Scout, Tenderfoot, or Second Class. It is designed to help these Scouts meet the outdoor requirements for the First Class rank. Included are skills in first aid, orienteering, lashing, knots, and swimming. A five-mile hike is also taken by this group.

The 2005 Eagle Camp will run from July 31st to August 6th. Registration is due by May 13th. Twenty-four First Class, Star, or Life Scouts who have attended Conestoga or another council long-term camp in 2005 are eligible.

Scouts sign up for at least 2, but not more than 4 of the Eagle required merit badges offered. All time requirements must be met PREVIOUS to camp. Scouts will take a variety of field trips designed to meet the requirements of these, sometimes difficult, merit badges. Any partial merit badge earned at the previous Conestoga week can be worked on during Eagle week.
